God says ""Today I am giving you the choice between a blessing and a curse! You will be blessed if you obey the commands of the LORD your God that I am giving you today. You will receive a curse if you reject the commands of the LORD your God and turn from his way by worshiping foreign gods. (Deut 11:26-28 nlt)

The purpose of this blog and of Four Soils Ministry is to encourage the understanding by discussion, and application of God’s Word. The Word of God is a schoolmaster that points a person to Jesus Christ.

In the book of 2 Timothy, Paul tells Timothy that he had been taught the Holy Scriptures from childhood, and they had given him the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. Paul goes on to say that all of Scripture is inspired by God, that it is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives, that it straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right, that it is God's way of preparing us in every way, and that it fully equips us for every good thing God wants us to do. (2 Tim 3:15-17)

  2. God’s covenant relationship defines the “blessing or curse” or “life or death” choices starting when God told Adam “Don’t eat of tree of knowledge, if you do you will surly die.” The implied blessing is life if Adam does not eat and the stated curse is if you eat you die. Adam chose the curse, death.

Hosea speaking of Israel says, "But like Adam, you broke my covenant and rebelled against me. (Hosea 6:7 nlt)

Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he [is] God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations; (Deut 7:9)

God is always faithful, we choose to receive His blessing or His curse. John 3:18 states, “He who believes in Him (Jesus) is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God”

God has laid before us a blessing or curse, life or death, choose life (Jesus)!
